Welcome to Whitesands Equestrian. Whitesands is the UK’s first Centre of Légèreté and is a beautiful, quiet, purpose built yard set in a stunning East Lothian coastal location just off the A1 near Dunbar. It has direct access to the beach, miles of off road hacking in the surrounding countryside and 20 acres of well fenced paddocks on well drained sandy soil.
We have a holistic approach to caring for horses and the yard is run according to ethical, classical principles. Everyone on the yard is here because of their shared interest in doing the best for their horse and we pride ourselves on our welcoming, supportive atmosphere.

TRAINING
Our clinics are open to anybody and are the best way of learning, both from the saddle but also from the ground with structured lectures and dismounted bodywork sessions. All lessons are from Catherine herself

LIVERY
We offer full livery to anyone interested in learning the technique. Full livery packages include 1 lesson per month. Horses love it here with all year turnout, spacious boxes and humans on hand to cater for their every need!

RUG WASH & REPAIR
We provide an in-house rug washing and repair service including reproofing of outdoor rugs. It couldn’t be easier, just download the form on our Rug wash and Repair page and attach it securely to your rugs when you drop them off.

Legerete is a classical, logical and ethical system of training developed by ex Cadre Noir ecuyer Philippe Karl which takes into account the horse’s psychology and biomechanics. It rejects force and gadgets and has respect of the horse at it’s core.
